Archery is a sport that the whole family can take part in and enjoy?

Each Saturday morning, archers from across the North East of Victoria, gather at the club in Benalla for a fun filled day of archery.

Come and Try sessions are held between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm on most Saturday's, please make contact with the club to make your appointment.

On hand we have accredited archery instructors to help with all your archery needs! Don't have equipment! Don't panic, club equipment is available for the Come and Try sessions.

The club offers something for everyone with 3D Animal Targets, Outdoor targets, and even novelty targets for the kids! In particular, the 3D target collection is ever growing in size with a new target animal joining the ranks every few weeks!

The target archery range caters for distances from 5m to 90m for those looking to get into serious competition. Several of the present members currently compete at both state and national level events.

North Eastern Archers Inc. is an Archery Australia and Archery Victoria affiliated club. This club has been completely self-funded, thanks to the generous donations of local businesses and club members.

If you are interested in attending one of the Come and Try sessions, or interested to know more about membership, please feel free to contact us.

For those out there who have their own archery equipment North Eastern Archers also extends our help to the fellow archer with their private bow set up and even bow tuning. If you think you could benefit from some local archery knowledge please feel free to come and say hello, perhaps we may even learn something from you.

On hand some of our members have various specialized tools which enable us to be able to provide services such as arrow cutting, portable bow press, d loop installation and many more specialized archery tooling allowing a higher level of customization to a bow set up.

Extreme Weather Warning

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Heatwave Warning for Thursday 12 January 2023 to Saturday 14 January 2023 for North East, East Gippsland and Northern Country weather districts.

The NEA committee is advising its members to avoid the range over the next few days, however should you feel compelled to go out in the heat, think smart, keep to early mornings or late evenings, take plenty of water (not carbonated drinks), supplement with electrolytes, and of course SLIP, SLOP, SLAP SEEK and SLIDE.

The forecast heatwave conditions may cause health impacts in the community.
Heatwaves can affect anyone. Older people, people with a pre-existing medical condition, pregnant women and young children and babies are most at risk.
Organisations should monitor their local weather conditions from Victoria Weather and Warnings (bom.gov.au) and respond in accordance with their heat plans. Individuals and communities should also prepare for the heat.

How to Survive the Heat:
• Drink plenty of water. Always take a bottle with you.
• Hot cars kill. Never leave kids, adults or pets in cars. The temperature inside a parked car can double within minutes.
• Keep cool. Seek out air-conditioned buildings, draw your blinds, use a fan, take cool showers and dress in light and loose clothing made from natural fabrics.
• Plan ahead. Schedule activities in the coolest part of the day and avoid exercising in the heat. If you must go out, wear a hat and sunscreen and take a bottle of water with you.
• Check-in on others. Look after those most at risk in the heat – your neighbour living alone, older people, children and babies, people with a medical condition and don’t forget your pets.
• Call NURSE-ON-CALL on 1300 606 024 or see your doctor if you are unwell.
• In an emergency, call Triple Zero (000).
